Описание к видео Let's get preschoolers ENGAGED: Setting Up Provocations and How to Follow the Child's Lead

Let's get preschoolers engaged in learning! One way we can do this is through a provocation table. What is a provocation table? Let's talk all about Setting Up Provocations and How to Follow the Child's Lead. Let's look at what a nature preschool discovery table looks like because honestly knowing what nature preschool curriculum is will help you to know how you can teach outside.

Preschoolers learn best by having hands-on activities. When we plan activities that are hands-on it helps keep preschoolers engaged in their learning. One way we can do this is by setting up provocations. These provocations are created by following the child's lead and creating experiences based on what they are interested in learning about.

This is where a provocation table comes in. In this video, we will talk about what a provocation is, how to follow the child's lead, ways to listen to children, and what a nature preschool discovery table looks like.

How do you plan a provocation? Let me show you: https://www.natureplaylifestyle.com/c...

STEP ONE: Listen to children.

what are some things they are talking about? What sorts of play are they interested in doing? What happens in their imaginative play? Comments on the hike?

Exploring and listening to their thoughts can spark ideas in you for creating a provocation for your class space.

STEP TWO; Gather Materials

Once you have an idea of their interest, you can start thinking about what you want to create. Remember to make it hands-on, sensory, and play-based as provocations are there to provoke wonder.

STEP THREE: Setup

This is the fun part, you can now start setting up the provocation for the children. While setting it up make sure you are considering how much stuff will be on the table and if the display is aesthetically pleasing-this is v important!

STEP FOUR: Time to Explore

As children explore the provocation take notes on what aspects they enjoy, how they are engaging with it, and listen to things that they wish they had more of. This will help you to know what you can add to the table or take away.
