Watch The Shed’s Eight-million-pound Structure Transform

Описание к видео Watch The Shed’s Eight-million-pound Structure Transform

Did you know The Shed moves? Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Lead Architect, and Rockwell Group, Collaborating Architect, The Shed’s Bloomberg Building is composed of two parts and can physically transform to support artists’ most ambitious ideas. Telescoping from the main building, an eight-million-pound movable outer shell travels on a double-wheel track to expand and retract.

In approximately five minutes, the shell can be deployed for large-scale indoor productions in The Shed’s iconic space, The McCourt, or nested to reveal an outdoor public plaza with Lawerence Weiner's site-specific work "In Front of Itself," The Shed’s first visual art commission.
