This amazing training and deployment session in Croatia demonstrated how easy, fast and effective the firefighters of Karlovac could deploy the flood control barriers.

Karlovac has previously suffered from massive floods. This exercise was consequently made as a “curative deployment”, meaning deployment in water to simulate how you would empty an already flooded area of water. Combining drones to make an overview, boats and high volume pump from Hytrans, it is clear that the city becomes resilient to future floods by adopting new technologies to fight floods. No more sandbags – no more manpower intense products for flood control.

Some advantages to highlight:
You use approximately 0,5 % of the resources used to deploy sandbags
The barrier has a deficient weight before deployment.
Filled with water, the weight increases approximately 400 times.
Once deployed and filled with water, it remains stable and irresistible to strong wind (storms or hurricanes)
Deploy before a storm, and you can deploy by only 2 people.
Delivered in sections up to 200m/600ft, which can be extended with additional sections.
