Описание к видео How Much Should Parents Interfere In Kids Lives ? | Sushant Kalra

Parents are always concerned when it comes to their kids’ lives and especially on how to make him or her understand the difference between good and bad. Sometimes, it is necessary that we interfere in a child’s life, but sometimes interfering makes it even worse. So how much should a parent interfere in a child’s life is a question that is on minds of most parents?

Keeping this in mind, Sipping Thoughts Host Minal Mudit Goel spoke to Parenting Expert and Coach, Mr Sushant Kalra, to help us understand whether parents should interfere in a kid’s life and how much should they get involved?

Mr. Kalra answers to this by explaining how bad it is as parents to “let them be”. A parent can never adopt the attitude of not being involved in a child’s life, especially in today’s world where there are so many distractions that a kid will not be able to understand how bad those distractions are affecting him.

Also, on the other hand, a parent should not completely help him get out of those distractions. Doing this, you’re not giving your child a chance to learn it themselves. So, interfering should be done somewhere in the middle. You both have to come to a middle ground.

A parent should act as a support system and should work it out together with the child. We can understand this, taking the example of a kite. If you pull the string of a kite really hard, it will come down and if you will leave the string, it will eventually come down. There is a very fine ground in between that where your kite will fly high. This is exactly what you should do with your child. This way, he will grow up to be a good person and will take up responsibility.

When parents face problems, who should they approach?

Mr. Kalra says that a parent should understand the child first. As every child is different, they react to same things differently, and have everything different. Therefore, a parent should mould their parenting style according to how their child perceives it. Parents should very consciously see and understand what a kid needs and how we can fulfil his need. And, for this COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY.
