The dress and energy of the dance has some androgyn elements as the female pharao had in the time of her ruling masculine elements to manifest her power. She wore a false beard for example.
The time was not ripe for a female ruler yet so she had to fight the male dominance at her court.
Nevertheless, she succeeded in many ways to do more than her male predecessors did. She organised an expedition to Punt (Horn of Africa?) . Establishing trading routes, building the palace of Djeser-Djeseru in Deir el-Bahri by Senenmut, royal steward and architect of Hatshepsut.
Now Deir el Bahri arabic for "the Monastery of the Sea" reveals something interesting. Although way in the desert, really big sea shell fossils are found in the valleys of the region. Especcially if you wander around, off the beaten track you can discover proof that the area was once covered by the sea. Egyptian history might be older than we presume.
Pharaonic dance on the music of "Hatshepsut" of the Abdel Hazim album "Hatshepsut and other dances".
The journey to Punt was musically painted in "Jour-ney" by Abdel Hazim
