BULGARIA is a country in Southeast Europe, on the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. It is best known for its beautiful Black Sea coast, the high mountains, the ancient history full of mysteries, its rose oil, its wine, its delicious food, and its hospitable people.

Rhodope Mountains is one of the largest mountain ranges in the Balkans. It is an endless maze of ridges and valleys, located mostly in Bulgaria, and a part of Greece. It is covered by wild deep forests and hides a unique local culture, history, and mysteries.

One of the most beautiful valleys in the Rhodopes is the valley of Chepelarska River, leading against its current from the Upper Thracian Plain to the highest ridges of the mountain ranges around the border with Greece.

In this video we explore some of the most beautiful villages in the Central Rhodopes- Stoykite, Shiroka Laka, and Gela. Stoykite and Gela are picturesque village that consist of several hamlets, scattered on the northern slopes of Perelik, the highest mountain in the Rhodopes.
