Emotional Outsourcing - that pattern of constantly scanning other people's faces for approval, of making yourself smaller or giving in to avoid conflict, of giving until you're resentful and then being upset with yourself for it - like it's a mindset issue.

But Emotional Outsourcing isn't happening in your thinking brain.

It's happening in your autonomic nervous system. It's a protective mechanism that got wired in when you were young, and it lives in your body, not your thoughts.

Which means all the cognitive strategies in the world - all the "just set boundaries" and "practice self-care" and "think positive thoughts" and "have a metter mindset" - are like trying to slice an onion with a fork.
