Automotive Luxury the Way It Used To Be at the Classic Car Club of America Museum

When we first landed in southwest Michigan, put on our Hemmings shirt, ran a comb through the hair and laced up our walking shoes to tour the new CCCA Museum in Hickory Corners, we didn't know what to expect. We heard the place was an old barn. Heard it was on the fabled campus of the Gilmore Car Museum. Had been told they got a mean Coney Island Dog at their vintage diner.

Not only did we find all of the above to be true, but also impressive. Very impressive. The new expansion of the CCCA Museum is a love letter to the era we now call "Full Classics:" those quiet giants built between 1915 and 1948 for the discerning motorist who could afford such luxury. But this is One Perfect Day and we can't live on a day at the museum, alone.

So, as Spring officially gets underway and we're all out there making up for lost vacations over the last few years, come along with us on this three-part installment of One Perfect Day: the Classic Car Club of America Museum at the Gilmore. We start off the day with Executive Director, Don Desmett, and tour the facilities (always wanted to say that). But that's just the beginning. Buckle up and come along for the ride!
