Sourav Chandidas Ganguly affectionately known as Dada, is an Indian cricket administrator, commentator and former national cricket team captain who is the 39th and current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Sourav Ganguly was born on 8 July 1972 in Kolkata, West Bengal.


His family is one of the richest families in Kolkata.


His Father Chandidas Ganguly was a flourishing print businessman. died at the age of 73 on 21 February 2013 after a long illness.


His Mother's name is Nirupa Ganguly. he is the youngest son.


Ganguly's elder brother Snehasish Ganguly was an established cricketer for the Bengal cricket team. He supported Ganguly's dream to be a cricketer.


Sourav married with her childhood love, Dona Roy on 1 February 1997.


Together they have a daughter, Sana Ganguly, who was born in 2001.


His nickname “The Prince of Calcutta” was given by Goeffrey Boycott.


Saurav Ganguly made Test debut on 20 June 1996 vs England at Lord's. he made his ODI debut on 11 January 1992 vs West Indies at Brisbane.

Career Turning Point was In the 1996 tour of England, when he scored two consecutive centuries in the two innings.
