🌍 What Happens If It Collapses?
If the entire glacier melts, global sea levels would rise by 70 centimeters (over two feet). But here’s the real danger: Thwaites is acting like a giant natural dam, holding back the entire West Antarctic Ice Sheet. If that "plug" is lost, the seas could rise by up to 3.3 meters — over 10 feet.
