A Killer on the Phone | Amy Mihaljevic | Ohio Cold Case

She had just wanted to do something nice for her mom. Amy Mihaljevic was lured from her lakeside Ohio community after a man targeted her through a series of conniving phone calls. Months passed while her parents and police helplessly searched for Amy, trying so many things and so many ways to bring her home.

From using truth serum to hidden cameras and traveling to far off locations, the investigation into Amy Mihaljevic’s abduction and murder has utilized a lot of different tactics. When Amy’s body was eventually found in a remote and rural field, every piece of trash and debris in a wide radius was collected. Now there is hope that DNA found over 30 years ago may hold the key to solving Amy’s cold case.

Investigators have also revealed a unique curtain used in the crime. This evidence, in addition to several trophies believed to be kept by her killer and the testimony of several witnesses resulting in three suspect sketches, could potentially jog the memory of someone who knew the man.
