405HP & 460lbfts on a BMW M135i EWG with a CSF Intercooler & RSS Stage 2 ECU Software 📈

Big gains can be enjoyed when replacing the factory M135i intercooler. The reason? It's the same as the intercooler installed on the 114i. On a stock car with stock boost level, it's performance handicap is less noticeable but definitely still tangible on a hot day.

Once boost levels are raised and power increases with Stage 1 and 2 ECU software, the stock intercooler is a HUGE performance handicap. Your M135i may feel lethargic on hot days and output on Stage 1 and Stage 2 is limited due to the hot charge temps. With an aftermarket intercooler, like the CSF intercooler, these temperatures are dropped significantly and consistently allowing for the ECU maps to be optimised more so than with the stock intercooler.

The result? Much more power, torque, better driveability and consistency of output as the ECU no longer have to limit the output as regularly as the temperatures increase due to the CSF intercooler keeping the temperatures cooler.

This particular car had another brand of ECU software on it. So before installing the RSS Stage 2 ECU software we flashed the vehicle back to stock and then installed the RSS Stage 2 ECU software and customised it to suit this specific vehicle. As the maps inside the ECU are optimised for improved torque, power and driveability the High-Pressure Fuel Pump on this vehicle could not keep up with the demand for maximum output, on this car the request was limited to allow the HPFP to keep up with the demand which is why the mid-range/max torque/hp numbers look limited. With a new stock HPFP or performance, aftermarket HPFP higher max output and more mid-range torque/power can be enjoyed.

Enhanced overrun crackle was also installed.

🔵 Max output Now = 405HP & 460lbfts
🔵 Max Gain = +55HP & +90lbfts
🔵 Peak Gain = +13HP & 90lbfts
