Last weekend we were at Shepherds Park for the game between Birkenhead United AFC and Auckland FC Reserves. It was a cold night and the pitch was very slippery. Apart from the ball skating across the slick pitch and many players slipping on the grass, it was a good match. At half time, it was still 0-0 with the final result being a 2-0 win to Birkenhead United.
Mental note: Take warm clothes next time ... my hands were freezing holding the camera.

This video contains some of the highlights I recorded during the game including the goals.

Unfortunately for the own goal, I only recorded the very end result, not the lead up.

Some of these young players MAY eventually make the main Auckland FC squad once they get more experience. It will be interesting to see what happens to these young players in the future. This is them BEFORE they become household names.

Unfortunately we are unable to go to all of the AFC reserves games but we will try our best.
