In this video, learn about original BSNC shareholder Ada Blackjack Johnson, the famed sole survivor of the Wrangel Island Expedition of 1921.

BSNC and the family of Ada Blackjack express their support of recognizing Ada Blackjack on a $1 commemorative coin through the Native American $1 Coin Act. Ada’s humility, courage and resilience as a female Alaska Native and the obstacles she overcame are an important part of the Arctic and Alaska’s history.
