In this video, I discuss horse riding aids. I provide some an overview of the basics and some tips to help you if you are a beginner or looking for more information on this topic.

Horse riding aids are discussed a lot in the industry and if you ever have a lesson you will likely hear the word "aid" associated with various riding movements. It can be confusing at first, but once you learn more about these it is easier to understand when used by others.

There are two types of rider aids in the horse industry - natural aids and auxiliary. I focus on natural aids as this is what will be used most in your riding.

One you understand the basics of the aids and do some practice in, it is time to work towards building independent aids as this will help you become better in your riding. At the end of this video I provide an exercise to help get you started with this.

There is a lot of movements you can do using your aids and I may do another video delving more into this in the future. I wish you success in your riding! Feel free to leave questions or a video idea you would like to see next 😊
