Landing at Cheung Chau Ferry Pier, we plunge into a maze of tight, winding streets. Our first mission: reach the ancient Yuk Hui Temple, a Taoist sanctuary filled with incense, history, and stories whispered through its centuries-old halls.
But this is only the warm-up.
Under a blazing sun, we take on the Family Trail, battling steep inclines, rocky paths, and relentless heat. Step by step, we climb higher — until we reach the island’s mighty crown: the North Observation Deck. From here, Cheung Chau unfolds beneath us in a fantastic panorama — ocean, villages, mountains, all in one breathtaking sweep.
The descent leads us straight into a colorful Seafood Street, the beating heart of the island.
Then the story turns darker and more mysterious as we hunt for the legendary hideout of pirate Cheung Po Tsai. We arrive at his infamous cave, perched above dramatic cliffs and a rugged coastline that looks carved by storms.
