In Spring of 2024, Un Mar de Colores, an Indigenous and Latinx founded and led organization. was awarded the Coastal Stories grant by the State Coastal Conservancy to create a mural that would increase representation of Black, Indigenous, People of Color communities along Californias’ Coastlines. Un Mar partnered with Santa Barbara based surfer and artist, DJ Javier, and the only Latino owned and operated grocery store in Leucadia, Just Peachy, to make it happen.
