"Bad Rank Control" - Battle Garegga 1cc, Golden Bat

This game is known for having a very complicated rank system that needs to be strictly adhered to if you want to clear, ...right?

Well, this is an old replay of mine that ignores some of the standard rank control advice. I estimate I ended up making rank ~8-9% higher than it would have otherwise been, but still end the run at a comfortable rank of 36%. Turns out that if you stick to a default (or 10 Hz) fire rate you can make quite a few "mistakes" and still not invoke catastrophically high rank. Golden Bat is that strong, and ultimately practice and familiarity matters more for obtaining a clear than strict rank mitigation (although the latter certainly helps).

All that said, I am punished hard in this run for ignoring the standard rank control and you should not follow this route if you want to play the game yourself. If you're curious about more consistent strategies, I recommend the following resources:
