D1 advantages: Definitely better skyboxes, Scenes in the distance have more objects (islands, trees, warehouses, more detailed walls etc), More realistic colors (D2 is WAY oversaturated), Better attention to detail, Somehow more intricate/crisp textures (despite being lower res than D2), Surprisingly better geometry than in D2 (terrain, interiors)

D2 advantages: Resolution, Framerate, High res textures (looking a bit more bland though), Better ambient occlusion, Interior lighting is superior, Rocks and crevices are better shaded

D1 360 What is missing: Dynamic vegetation wind animations/movement, less intricate detail on rocks and terrain, less lush vegetation overall, pared back water effects, a bit blurrier distance objects. Otherwise it holds up pretty well, for an 18 year old console.
