Part 3 Raising the Slab Walls

On Tuesday the 17th of August the prefabricated concrete walls were delivered and lifted into position at the Queenscliffe HUB.

The day was cold and wet, and the Queenscliffe Historical Museum Audio Visual Team was on site early in the morning ready to record this historic occasion.

The 300 Tonne crane lifted the16 panels each weighing up to 14 Tonne into position, creating the North and front wall of the new museum.

By 3 o’clock in the afternoon all the slabs were in place.

The building is really starting to take shape.

It is exciting to get the feel of the museum’s Collection Studio, the basement storage area, and the fluted front wall with its nine peep holes.
