Toyota Tacoma | Archive Garage Hammer Hangers Install plus Shackles & HC Cross Tube

Hello and welcome, thanks for stoping by. Today I'm installing a set of Archive Garage Hammer Hangers, shackles, and the high clearance cross tube. The stock hangers are weak and flimsy with a history of bending out on the trails which could damage your leafs over time. The products were will packaged for shipping and came in two boxes with all the hardware needed. The pieces themselves look super beef and are well made. Once you have them in your hands it's easy to see how well made they are and how much care went into the process of design/welding/powder. Even the hardware is top tier. In terms of the install these went in smoothly with no modification to the new parts which I thoroughly enjoy. As for the removal of the stock hangers, it's going to be a battle, no way around it. Plan for at least a solid half day of sweaty, dirty garage fun. Air tools will drastically reduce drill time. I recommend you cut the heads off all the rivets first including the upper heads on the lower inner frame/cross support member. Then flap disk the left over rivet down so that it's flush with the stock hanger. Then with an air hammer punch the lower rivets up while you have the cross frame support held in place. Once the lower rivets are out you will be able to hammer/pry the stock hanger off. Once the stock hanger is off, flap disc the left over rivet down to flush with the frame and air hammer out. Drill out the holes cause the hard part is done. My air hammer could not punch out the rivets without grinding and flapping first. Install is straight forward. It is important to install the shackle on the leaf before the new hangers go on and important to have the upper shackle bolt, the one going through the leaf pack, has to have the bolt threads facing out. First trial ride was the day after the install on some soft sand and hard pack typical FL trails. It was a rainy muddy day. The rear end felt more planted over obstacles. On the street it feels softer over bumps, which I completely enjoy. I'm super happy with everything, no complaints. Thanks for watching, don't forget to like and subscribe. All links below.
