This video was created to give hope to the child who feels hopeless and a voice to those that feels voiceless.

Maybe you’re watching this video as a confused adult who knew the circumstances in which you were raised in weren’t quite right, but have been unconscious of just how deeply the circumstances shaped you. This video was created to give voice to the part of you that knew something wasn’t right that often becomes internalized back onto yourself. Free yourself. Know that you were deserving from BIRTH and hold people in your life accountable. YES even your parents.

It’s over for parents who want to act shocked and confused and relieve themselves of the responsibility of how their kids turn out and who they become based on the emotional and nervous system regulation and stability that was provided to them. No human being should have to fight for understanding or accountability from the people who fostered their development. We should all be advocating for children who were raised in toxic environments because the instability these peoples foundation is built on can expose them to some very dangerous situations and even life paths.

Guilt of holding people accountable when it comes to respecting you is difficult and comes from not wanting to hurt the other person. What if I told you you’re actually HELPING the other person by being the one who takes the stand that nobody had the strength to before you because it shows them they were worthy of doing the SAME. By stopping enabling unacceptable behavior you also help them to HEAL. If you disrupt the pattern the cycle breaks.

Not everything is a grey area. Some things are just really that black and white. Right from wrong. Stand for something or you’ll fall for everything.
Enjoy this video and stay strong around your toxic family this holidays season and let them act like you’re acting brand new and ask you who do you suddenly think you are ? Because you finally feel the worthiness to have a backbone that they should’ve instilled in you from the moment you came to this earth.

And I want to be clear on one thing specifically. You don’t need to do what I did.
Not everyone can sit their parents down with a therapist.
Two years might not be enough for some parents. Twenty years might not be enough for some to look at themselves.
Some parents won’t show up, some CANT show up, some situations aren’t safe, and you CAN STILL heal without that kind of conversation.
This was just what I needed to reclaim my voice. & It’s honestly a HUGE luxury that I was able to have that experience, and I’m very grateful that my parents were willing and open to do that and that to learn to start showing up how I deserved even if it’s in my adult life. Do not get it confused. I love my parents and they are NOT bad people. I have seen an amazing amount of growth in both of them since this experience which is an incredible blessing.
Your healing might look completely different, and that’s okay.
