Days Gone is an action-adventure survival horror video game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. Days Gone is a third-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic open world. Deacon St. John (Sam Witwer), a former outlaw-turned-drifter and bounty hunter who prefers life on the road to wilderness encampments, is controlled by the player. The game is set two years after a worldwide virus nearly wiped off humanity, transforming millions of people into "Freakers," mindless zombie-like creatures that are rapidly mutating.

Deacon St. John, a Mongrel MC member, is one of the survivors of the epidemic. Deacon floats about the Pacific Northwest wilderness, never settling in one location for very long. Deacon frequently works as a Bounty Hunter/Mercenary, trading his skills for supplies. However, Deacon discovers that there is a bounty on his head, which adds to his list of adversaries. Deacon and his friend Boozer were planning to travel north when Boozer was hurt and Deacon's bike was damaged.
