Stone Arch Bridge Of Pyli – Trikala | Greece [4K]

The bridge of Pyli or Agios Vissarion or Porta is a stone arched bridge located 1.5 kilometers east of the Trikala Gate, bridging the Portaikos. According to the surviving inscription, it was built in 1514.
The bridge is single-arched with a semi-circular span with a height of 30 meters from the river bed and a span of 29 meters, it has the second largest span of the traditional bridges of Thessaly and the most well-preserved in the Balkans with the highest number of visitors. The total deck length of the bridge is 67 meters. The deck width is 2.1 meters. It is built of mudstone and the bridge deck is made of chipped sandstone .
