Titanic Trail Southampton - A Walk Through History

Описание к видео Titanic Trail Southampton - A Walk Through History

If you love all things Titanic, then join me in Southampton, England - the Titanic's port of departure - for this walking tour along the Titanic Trail, covering all of the key local sites related to the infamous ocean liner.

The RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton on April 10, 1912. She sank several days later, approximately 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, in the early morning hours of April 15 after striking an iceberg. While news of the disaster reverberated throughout the world, there was perhaps nowhere else on earth where the tragedy hit as hard as it did in Southampton. The majority of the ship's crew were from here, most of whom never saw home again. The Titanic Trail is a historical walking tour that covers all of the memorials, museums, and historical buildings that played an integral role in the story of the ship, her passengers, and her crew. After visiting each location around the city, I finished off the day by taking a ferry ride, leaving the port of Southampton, just as the Titanic did over 110 years ago.

If you're a Titanic enthusiast, history buff, or just want to learn a bit more about the disaster from a local Southampton lens, then come join me as I spend the day stepping back in time.
