Описание к видео ARCHIVE: Amtrak train derailment in Batavia (August 1994)

Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, an overnight passenger train, was on its way from New York City to Chicago early Aug. 3, 1994 when it derailed in Batavia, New York. Fourteen cars derailed and 118 passengers were injured, though no fatalities were reported. The crash was later blamed on a flattened rail that allowed the train's wheels to come off the track. This video shows News Source 13's coverage of the derailment and aftermath from Aug. 3-10, 1994.
