Former Refugee Aminata Conteh-Biger is the Founder & CEO of the Aminata Maternal Foundation (“ AMF” ), a non-profit focused on eradicating maternal mortality in her homeland of Sierra Leone.
With the support of UNHCR, Aminata became one of the first Sierra Leonean women to settle in Australia as a refugee. Her immeasurable strength, determination and adaptability enabled her to heal from the horrors of her past and build a new life in her adopted home of Australia. She the author of Rising Heart, and a Special Representative for Australia United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
