The table captain poker player type stereotypically plays an aggressive poker strategy with a ton of raising, often found in poker tournaments if an aggressive poker player gets a big stack.

The key or important poker concept to keep in mind is that they get dealt the same card distribution as everyone else, so if they are raising very often they have to be raising a lot of mediocre or trash poker hands.

The way to fight back against this poker player type isn’t necessarily to 3-bet bluff them more but instead to widen your 3-bet value range.

They may have aggressive actions to take against your new 3-bet range, but because it’s now more value heavy and you’re more aware of their tendencies you can have an easier time against their aggressive poker strategy.
