Corruption, organized crime and the building of administrative structures are the topics during the 2-day symposium 'State Building'. Building on the principle of COMMON EFFORT (a project during which the Corps has intensive cooperation with civilians), Luitenant General Ton van Loon, Commander of Headquarters 1 (German/Netherlands) Corps, and Dr. Philipp-Christian Wachs, Director of Haus Rissen Hamburg will host over 80 politicians, scientists and military.

Dr. Phillip Ackermann head of the Task Force Afghanistan/Pakistan of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs will deliver the key-note speech, while amongst others Sarah Chayes (former Special Advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff US), Linda Polman (Dutch journalist) and Thomas Ruttig (Afghanistan Analyst Network) will be panel members.
