This album is about The Imprisoner, an anti-villain who rescues captured women, only to then keep them for himself within his harem. He is an extremely desolate man, unable to give affection and thus resorts to sexuality to feel closeness between himself and others. His feeling of desolation is soon recognized and he becomes a bitter loner, seeking only to rescue those in captivity - though knowing he will be eternally outlawed by anyone within society.

He is mute, unable to speak in anything other than growling - although he is an avid reader. He is known to prowl his labyrinth often, eating rich food made by his servants and enjoying the sensuality of fine music - particularly medieval folk.

I was inspired by retrowave, which I had been listening to a lot of at the time I began concepts for this album. The end product proved very different to what I anticipated, though certainly the retrowave influence can be heard.
