Learn how to make this delicious Dahi Chicken (Curd Chicken Curry) – a rich and mildly spiced North Indian-style chicken dish made without tomatoes. In this recipe, chicken is cooked in a creamy yogurt-based masala with warm whole spices, kasuri methi, and a hint of ghee for extra flavor.

Ingredients :

500 gms Chicken (curry cut pieces)

Yogurt Masala Mix :

100 gms Yogurt (Curd) - used sourless here
½ tsp Turmeric Powder (haldi powder)
1 tbsp heaped Kashmiri Chilli Powder (use as per your spice tolerance)
1 tbsp Coriander Powder (dhania powder)
½ tsp Cumin Powder (jeera powder)
½ tsp Black Pepper Powder (kali mirch powder)
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
½ tsp Salt (or as per taste)

Other Ingredients :

2 tbsp Vegetable Oil (use as per your diet restrictions)
1 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee) - (use as per your diet restrictions)
2 nos Cinnamon Sticks (dalchini)
3 nos Green Cardamoms (hari elaichi)
3 nos Cloves (lavang)
1 no Bay Leaf (tej patta)
1 large size (160 gms) Onion - finely chopped
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste (adrak-lehsun paste)
2 Green Chillies (use as per your spice tolerance)
50 ml Warm Water
1 tsp Kasuri Methi - (lightly roasted & hand crushed)
1 tsp Lemon Juice - (or as per taste, if your curd is already sour - skip this step)

Note : tsp is teaspoon
tbsp is tablespoon
Use Oil as per your diet restrictions
Use Chillies as per your spice preference
Always wash curry leaves & coriander leaves before use
