Aside from being adorable, the custom-made wool caps also let researchers, for the first time, conduct EEG brain scans on felines without having to sedate them. These electrode-filled winter caps are already being used to help determine how cats experiencing chronic pain may respond when exposed to pleasant sounds and smells. Yarn of your choice (I used a 4 weight acrylic/wool/viscose blend; 3 - 4 weight is ideal)
Crochet hook to suit your yarn (I used 4mm)
Optional smaller crochet hook for ties (I used 3mm)
Scissors
Darning needle
Measuring tape
Pom pom maker (optional - I used a Clover Pom pom maker)
Stitch marker (optional)

Magic ring
Making a chain
Slip stitch (sl. st.)
Single crochet (SC)
Double crochet (DC)
Weaving in ends
Sewing pom pom to hat

Sizes: Small, medium and large within standard cat range. For information on sizing go to 2:15. The sizes can be adjusted by altering your yarn weight and hook size.
