The Way Things Are - (English Cover)

I've pretty much retired from doing covers. I'm much more focused on other projects (such as piano, composing original music, and my other channel. But I wanted to do this one because there a ZERO English recordings of this song that have been released. To my knowledge, this is the first one. The lyrics were officially released a few years ago. But there was no recording to accompany it. So I had to guess on a lot of the rhythms (namely "True of false no shadow of a doubt". I have no idea has that's supposed to be sung)

I may re-record this at some point. I hardly knew the words and this was my first time singing it out loud. Like pieces that I learn on piano, I need to spend time with something before it becomes good. It would be ridiculous for me to listen to a Chopin Etude a few times, sight read it, and then publish the result on Youtube. That would be a mess. But for some reason, that's what I did here. I just really wanted to release the first English recording.

I sped the instrumental track up to the original 134 beat per minute and lowered the key to the one used in the Japanese production. Which, I personally think fits the tone of the song better. Sure, the Korean one is more dramatic and as a stand alone song, it's better in B minor. But in the context of the scene, the more reserved, personal tone of the Japanese key fits much better.
