Top of the Hour (8 a.m.) during CityNews 95.7’s morning news wheel in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The morning news is anchored by Dan Ahlstrand and Shelli Summers including local, national and international news with traffic and weather together on the 1s, sports at :15/:45 and business at :26/:56. Features such as sports and business originate from CityNews 680 in Toronto while elements such as traffic and weather are contracted from outside the company. The station laid off a large portion of its staff in November 2020 so the newscast is populated with content by journalists at CityNews stations across the country and affiliates outside Canada.

CityNews 95.7 is a mix of news, talk and sports, with morning talk hosted by Todd Veinotte following the retirement of long-time host Rick Howe, with sports/talk reruns during the afternoon and weekends. The station also carried the national newscast at night “CityNews Everywhere” which is based out of western Canada.

The station was originally branded as NEWS 95.7 but this and other Rogers news stations across the country rebranded to CityNews in Fall of 2021 integrating the radio and tv brands.
