In this video, hang out with me as we explore using shapes in PowerPoint. I provide some quick 101 information (like where to find shapes in PowerPoint), but then start sharing some ideas for how you can use additional tools you might not be familiar with, such as merge tools and editing the default points of shapes to create new shapes.

Using these advanced tools in PowerPoint will help you create even more customized shapes, such as Venn diagrams, that allow you to customize the colors more than you might be used to.

Let's step beyond change the shape fill and outline color of shapes, and use them to create more visually engaging -- and more customized -- visuals on your slides!

Hopefully this inspires you to create more customized visual themes in your presentations. Because EVERY presentation needs visuals -- academic, scientific, research, corporate, and any type of professional presentation will benefit if you can explain your concepts more visually.
