Johan van Kreij shows the working process of creating a light controlled instrument in Live.


C@tfish HackLab is a monthly coding and electronics workshop at Studio LOOS. Building a community of knowledge and support is the most important outcome of this initiative. Anyone working with Arduino and related technology is very welcome to participate. The workshop might be interesting even if your project is not at all connected to the arts. Regardless if you are working on a project, you are very much invited to come over and have a taste of the atmosphere.


Johan's bio:
"My practice combines the fields of improvisation/composition, instrument design and research. An important aspect is the continuous reevaluation of the processes that shape the music I want to create. This is expressed in the design of personalized performance tools that are created by combining software and hardware. Writing sound processing computer programs, connecting controllers, soldering sensors, shaping modes of interaction are all part of this work. In addition I teach others about these subjects at the Institute of Sonology and in various workshops."
