Germany's chancellor is linking the fight to prevent climate change to the Cold War.

In a way this is a second wall that needs to fall.
Angela Merkel addressed a joint session of Congress Tuesday, urging lawmakers here not to delay in saving the planet.

We all know we have no time to lose.
However her words got only a tepid response as some republicans refused to join Democrats in giving her a standing ovation over her words.
She did, though, get a warmer response at the White House where President Barack Obama shared her desire for a strong international agreement on the matter.

"The United States, Germany and countries around the world, I think, are all beginning to recognize why it is so important that we work in common in order to stem the potential catastrophe.
World leaders are set to gather next month in Copenhagen to discuss global warming, however it's not clear if Congress will accept whatever agreement is reached there.
