West Chester Police launches official Lip Synch Challenge video

The West Chester Police Department posted its #LipSyncChallenge video to social media on Monday, Aug. 13. It features the S.W.A.T. team and tactical vehicle the B.E.A.R. (Ballistic Engineered Armored Response vehicle), used in high-risk operations.
The Lip Synch Challenge has been trending in police circles across the country all summer long as departments challenge one another to record fun dance and music videos. West Chester Police were challenged by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Herzog says he would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Disease by challenging everyone to get involved in the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Locally, events are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15 at Voice of America Park in West Chester and Saturday, Oct. 6 at Sawyer Point in Cincinnati. “We filmed the video in about one hour before a regularly scheduled S.W.A.T. training exercise. It ended up being a fun, team-building activity and a positive way for us to virtually come together with fellow police departments across the country in a show of camaraderie,” said Police Chief Joel Herzog.
The 50-second video was written, shot and produced in house by West Chester TV in conjunction with Daniel Dean, public affairs officer. WCPD encourages everyone to like, share and retweet from the West Chester Township Facebook, Twitter and Vimeo pages.
Officers chose to use a popular remix version of the theme song to the children’s television show, “Little Einsteins,” a Disney Junior animated series which ran from 2005 to 2009. Creation of the remix is credited to Internet personality 886Beatz, whose YouTube video has gained more than 87 million views since 2014.
