Since human evolution, humans have never consumed such a high amount of carbs that is being consumed today. During Human evolution , homo sapiens came into existence way earlier than grains (main source of carbs ). Grains came into picture only in small parts of the world where homo sapiens started settling (when civilizations started appearing). Production of grains increased mainly due to trade between various ancient civilizations of the world. Consumption of carbs has exploded only in last century with the growth in trade. Advancement in science and greed of humans led to this exponential consumption of carbohydrates that was never the preferred food of homo sapiens for million years. Now our breed - Homo Sapiens – is surrounded by carbohydrates only. Carbohydrates are now more deadly than ever with high usage of high yielding variety of seeds, chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers. Food companies invests hefty money for marketing and advertisement of deadly products or food rich in carbohydrates and sugar. This high consumption of carbohydrates is paralleled with the diseases that never existed in human history. Lifestyle or food consumption pattern of humans that existed in history can be determined by the fossils or art and culture of that time. Throughout the history humans were very lean, muscular, omnivorous and enjoyed healthy lifestyle . The major portion of their diet came from hunting animals only, as depicted in all the cave paintings, fossils, historical monuments, scriptures etc. They lived on low carb diet . Presently any family picture, videos etc are not complete without a fat or obese man or woman.
Now understand – what are carbohydrates ?
Digestion of both whether it be simple carbohydrates or complex carbohydrates is the same. Both simple carbohydrates or complex carbohydrates are carbohydrates only and they are finally converted into glucose after digestion. It is only waste of time researching and discussing about simple carbohydrates or complex carbohydrates as carbohydrates as a macronutrient only provides us energy and no other nutrition required by human body. Foods rich in carbohydrates are not the preferred source of energy, our body thrives on the energy provided by natural saturated fats . To live healthy humans shall immediately stop using food rich in carbohydrates and go back to our natural low carb diet . Our ancestors were lean and active on low carb diet .
Sources of carbohydrates are all the grains, pulses, fruits, sugar. Sources of carbohydrates also includes some vegetables like potato, sweet potato etc. Food companies are using these sources of carbohydrates for making final products like biscuits, noodles, chocolates, powders, breads, burgers, pizza, soft drinks, energy drinks etc. Please stay away from these sources of carbohydrates and follow low carb diet . Prefer first class sources of protein like milk and milk products, whole eggs, meat etc. Food should be prepared in natural saturated fats like Desi ghee, butter and coconut oil .
