This video will walk you through the entire process of uploading your book to Draft2Digital and how to set up a pre-order. I tried to cover all my bases but let me know if you need me to talk about something more in-depth or have any questions at all leave them in the comments!

Side Note: Draft2Digital is a distributor which means you can also use them to upload to the five main retailers, Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Barnes & Noble (Nook), and Kobo. This would definitely save you time from manually uploading your book to the storefronts, but know that Draft2Digital takes a percentage on top of what the storefronts take. Personally, it's not worth it for me and I just upload directly. I feel as if once you get the hang of it, going through this process won't be as time-consuming as it is in the beginning. That's my two-cents on the matter. There's no wrong or right way of doing this. Do what feels right for you and your author career.

\\My Why\\

The reason I’m doing this is because there is just so much you have to learn and know when you start your self-publishing career that it can be overwhelming. I want to save someone else’s time spent looking for answers. The topics I’ll touch on with this series will be mostly geared towards aspiring and newbie authors. While some of the topics I touch on may help more experienced authors, my focus is on authors trying to get started and ones just starting.

When I started publishing I was fortunate enough to have author friends who didn’t mind me bugging them every five minutes (I exaggerate but only a little) with questions that ranged from how to find good editors to how to create a writing & publishing plan on a busy schedule. But even with all the help, I still had to hunt down answers of my own. Sometimes you just don’t know how to word the question to get help, so I’m doing it for you.

I’ll be compiling all my knowledge from my few years of publishing and offering it all to you. I’ll share resources such as videos, blog posts, and social media posts that answer those questions you’re not sure how to ask or didn’t even think of yet. I’ll be offering freebies that you can use as well. This is a long game for me and as I gain more experience I’ll share it all with you!

\\About Me\\

My name is Teralyn Mitchell and I’ve been publishing since 2017. I started my career as a YA fantasy author and was published by a small international publisher. My first book was published in November of 2017. I started self-publishing in January of 2019 after my publisher decided to go in another direction that I wasn’t comfortable with. Soon after, I switched from writing YA fantasy to adult contemporary romance. This was a field I felt like I could write better in though I still also write young adult novels too.

In January of 2020, I published my first contemporary romance novel. I had no clue what I was doing and made a lot of mistakes that I’ve learned from and tried to do better about. In all, I’ve self-published four novels and had one published through a publishing company (another author’s world) and I have two books on pre-order right now. I have two series published on the serial apps, KISS and Galatea; and plan to publish on Radish soon. My experience isn’t as vast as some but I have a little to offer which I’m doing now!
