🌿🐄 Compassionate Eating 🌱🥩

Recently, I’ve been deeply moved and inspired by two experiences that have continued to reshape my view on animal rearing and the food we consume. It may not be popular, but I think it should be said. A post by @coxhomestead_kodak really hit home with me. She is a huge animal lover and raises rabbits with such respect and love, for both food and pets. She brought to life for me a real-life example of connecting with our food sources. 🐰❤️

Also, we were recently guests in UT Law class focused on animal law and it was a total game-changer. One of the speakers shared the contrast between small-scale, caring farms and the massive industrial ones —it was shocking and frankly, really upsetting to see! 🏫💔

🍃🐄 On smaller farms and homesteads like those of my friends, animals are reared not just with care, but with genuine respect and love. They roam freely, enjoy natural surroundings, are cared for, and live as part of a community. This is in stark contrast to some industrial farms where animals’ quality of life is far from ideal. 🍃🐄

As someone who consumes meat but doesn’t raise it, knowing the origin and the ethical treatment of these animals is becoming incredibly important to me. This journey has reinforced my belief in supporting farms who rear their animals with compassion, gratitude, and respect.

By choosing to support those who treat animals with kindness while in their care, we create a win-win for everyone. Ask yourself—do you know how the last cow or chicken was treated for your burger or chicken sandwich? I’d love to be able to answer yes! Wouldn’t it be bombdiggity if we lived in a world where every animal is raised with the love and respect they deserve. 🐓💖🌱

And yes, while we rescue and provide a sanctuary for many animals, we also deeply appreciate those who responsibly and compassionately raise animals for food.

Compassion, respect, and gratitude… now that is BombDiggity.
