"I Love a Parade," written by Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler, is a 1932 song that had an interesting, and somewhat truncated, history. It was originally intended for the Winnie Lightner film "Manhattan Parade," but due to a change in the film's direction from a musical to a talkie, the song was ultimately cut from the domestic release, though it remained in the foreign version.
Despite being cut from the main film, the song was still used in the opening and closing credits of the domestic version, and it remained in the foreign version.

The song gained a new lease on life when it was featured in the popular 1964 musical "Funny Girl," and later in the 1968 film adaptation, becoming iconic in the process. Barbara Streisand famously performed the song, which she titled "Don't Rain on My Parade" in "Funny Girl".

Harry Richman (born Henry Reichman Jr.; August 10, 1895 – November 3, 1972) was an American singer, actor, dancer, comedian, pianist, songwriter, bandleader, and nightclub performer, at his most popular in the 1920s and 1930s. In his peak years, he was one of the highest‐paid performers in show business.
Richman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Russian Jewish parents Henry and Katie (née Golder) Reichman.
