SP 1423 And The Niles Canyon Railway

Описание к видео SP 1423 And The Niles Canyon Railway

The Niles Canyon Railway runs diesels every Saturday around this time of year. I decided one afternoon to get tickets to ride the train from Sunol to Niles itself and back. I waited about a month and then one Saturday morning we arrived to the Sunol Depot where the Niles Canyon Railway is based in. Today the unit powering the train was SP 1423 painted in the Southern Pacific Tiger paint scheme. It is a EMD NW2, it was built back in June of 1949 and it has been in service its whole life wearing SP. Now we catch a glimpse of it switching tracks to its cars and another glimpse of it at Niles. At Niles we also get a small cameo of Amtrak's Capitol Corridor train. The video also contains shots of crossings with wig wags, the Brightside Yard, and much more along the way to Niles and back. SP 1423 and the Niles Canyon Railway were really great to see and you should go out to see it too at www.ncry.org
