Wind Advisory is up to Midnight tonight for most of Long Island. A slow moving cold front will move through our area tonight, bringing at least a 6 hour period of rain, some heavy, with possible thunderstorms, starting after 8pm tonight. We could see an additional inch of rain, this is on top of the 0.50-0.75'' we had early this morning. SE winds are gusting to near 40mph as well, and this will continue until the front just clears the East End after 6-8am, Friday. Tomorrow we'll be dealing with a cutoff upper level low, so there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms, hopefully the models are correct that they will be mostly of a scattered nature, and N&W of Long Island. There may be a few breaks of sun, it could get into the 60s, and it will still be slightly humid out. The dry air finally moves in later Friday night on a Northwest breeze, which will bring us a mostly sunny Saturday with temps rising into the mid and upper 60s, Sunday we'll see southwest winds which could bring some areas (esp NYC & NJ) well into the 70s, a sea breeze will probably keep Long Island's temps peaking around 70, then dropping in the afternoon into the 60s (50s south shore).
