What is the michelson morley experiment?
In this Part 2 video on History of Special Theory of Relativity, I discuss the concept of Ether and The Michelson Morley Experiment.

Michelson Morley Experiment tried to establish the existence of ether by measuring the fringe shifts in two light beams moving in perpendicular directions as Earth moves with a certain velocity through space. Unfortunately this experiment failed to establish the existence of ether. Ether was a hypothetical medium in which it was assumed that electromagnetic waves propagated through.
I discuss in detail, the principle, construction, calculations involved and conclusion of this experiment. This experiment has a special importance in the history of Special relativity and the development of a new Physics as it rejected the existence of an absolute frame of reference.
