📌 Can you figure out how many cupcakes are left after the party?
In this fun 2nd grade math short, we’ll use the R.U.N. strategy to solve a two-step word problem that uses both addition and subtraction — with cupcakes! 🧁🍫

Word Problem:
🟢 There are 16 chocolate cupcakes and 12 vanilla cupcakes on the table. 8 of them were eaten at the party. How many cupcakes are left?

Solving with R.U.N.:
✅ R – Read the problem carefully
✅ U – Underline the question: “How many cupcakes are left?”
✅ N – Name the numbers and the operation:

16 + 12 (total cupcakes)

Then subtract 8 eaten: (16 + 12) – 8 = ✅
