For Suriname's writers competition Ms. Amejo Jokil wrote her life story, Akiki the little girl from Moiwana. The short film was awarded with best film, best script, best acting and best director.

Akiki is a 7 year old girl. She lives in Moiwana with her mother Mely and sister Gerda and Anne. Every day she helps her mother at home when the others are at school. She didn't play around like most children. At the age of seven she can go to school. At first, Akiki cannot attend classes because she cannot yet speak the school language. Then internal war breaks out with all its consequences.
