Natalie Portman is an Israeli-American actress and filmmaker, born on June 9, 1981, in Jerusalem, Israel. She was raised in a Jewish family in the United States and attended Harvard University, where she earned a degree in psychology.

Portman made her film debut in 1994 with "Leon: The Professional," in which she played the role of a young girl who befriends a hitman. She gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of Padmé Amidala in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy (1999-2005).

Over the years, Portman has appeared in numerous other films, including "V for Vendetta" (2006), "Black Swan" (2010), for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress, "Thor" (2011), "Jackie" (2016), and "Annihilation" (2018).

Portman is married to French ballet dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, and they have two children together. She is fluent in Hebrew, French, and English.
