Azolla is an aquatic fern consisting of a short, branched, floating stem, bearing roots which hang down in the water.

The daily benefits of feeding Azolla to Dairy cattle's :
1. Feeding 1.5 - 2kgs Azolla on daily basis will result in increase in milk yield 15 - 20%.
2.The use of azolla as a feed, not only reduces the cost of feed by 15-20% but also increases the percentage of FAT & SNF, resulting in an additional income of Rs.1.50 per liter of milk.

The cost of feeding can be reduced by using azolla, which has high nutritional value as an alternative to the ground nut cake and cotton seed cake used in animal feed.
