Ford Escape 2022 review: Vignale FWD flagship turbo midsize SUV put to the family test!

The Ford Escape is a well-known nameplate for midsize SUV buyers in Australia, but with tough competition in the form of the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4 among others, is it a crossover you should consider for your family?

Family reviewer Ash Leung spent a few weeks with the top-spec version, the 2022 Ford Escape Vignale, to find out what it's like to live with as a daily driver. Ash, her husband and their son got to know this Ford SUV very well, even taking it away for a long drive - though she didn't go so far as to need the AWD version, and instead made do with the Escape 2WD / FWD.

In this review she goes over the design, practicality, safety, technology, comfort, driving dynamics and more - and also gives her thoughts on a couple of the car's features that might not live up to your expectations.
